CFNAP Research

High-quality research is the basis for all of CFNAP’s activities.  CFNAP research provides relevant data and analysis for decision-makers at the time they need to make decisions.  CFNAP faculty publish their research in peer-reviewed journals, present their research at major scientific conferences, invite external experts to critically review their research during invited workshops, and welcome dialogue with researchers who hold differing views.

Research by CFNAP faculty abides by a core set of principles derived from the philosophy of science and the norms of academic research.  The data and methods used in any analysis are clearly described.  The data used are either publicly available or made available upon request, except in rare cases in which intellectual property or confidentiality restrictions require CFNAP to restrict access to the data.  CFNAP faculty members encourage replication and re-analysis of their research.  The analysis of data and interpretation of results is reviewed by external scientists through presentations at scientific meetings and invitational workshops, and through submission to peer-reviewed journals.
